Don’t forget about the 4th day blogmas
On the 5th day of Blogmas Aitza gave to me, an update on her 30 before 30 activities!!
Like clockwork, I use the month of December to reflect on my life. It has less to do with it being the end of the calendar year and more to do with the conception of me. Count back nine months from September 22nd, and you get some day in December. If you’ve been reading the blog all year, you’ll know I’ve created a new 30 before 30 list. It took me a while to understand that changing my goals and choosing not to pursue them does not make me a failure or quitter.

My Aspiration in Life Would be to be Happy
Over the last year, I’ve come to terms with the fact I might not accomplish everything on this list before the age of 30. As my pal Jun recently “progress cannot be put on a timeline.happiness cannot be put on a timeline.” As I revisit this list each year, I am reminded of my own personal growth. My 30 before 30 list is here to hold me accountable to the goals I want to achieve in life, but I am not a hostage. The best part of Beyonce’s Pretty Hurts was,
That is my truth. Christmas is a time of joy and happiness. As I reflect on my year this blogmas season, I am reminded that my 30 before 30 is about happiness. I’m not out to achieve a constant state of happiness, because that’s not realistic. My goal is for the good to outweigh the bad. If I can reflect on my months or quarters or years and say “ there were some rough spots, but I had happiness,” then I am content. As I’ve said before “life is about growth and not staying stagnant.” I’m choosing to live 23 as a year of unknown; one where mindfulness is accepted and control is slowly released. This practice may result in a few more strikes on my list next year, or it may result in none at all. This year, it is not about the growth that can be quantified and broken down into percentages, but the introspective work that will lay the groundwork for who I will be once I reach 30 and 40 and 50.
As I reflect on my year this #blogmas season, I am reminded that my 30 before 30 is about happiness. Click To TweetIt doesn’t matter if you have a 30 before 30 or a 40 before 40 or an unofficial bucket list. As long as you’re actively reaching for your happiness and holding your self accountable, you are going to live a fulfilled life. Be happy good people!
